here is a list of things you may want to do during your stay in Galicia:
- Grab a cafe con leche (a spanish latte) and a pan con tomate, jamón y aceite (toasted bread with tomato, olive oil, and ham is popular breakfast) at a coffee shop.
- Take the bus around the city (easy and cheap!)
- Try the region’s most famous dish: pulpo (octopus)!
- Take a walk on the Paseo Maritimo (a walking path along the coast of A Coruña) and stop for pictures.
- Go to a park or a town square, grab a drink, and enjoy some people watching!
- Go shopping at a Zara (Although they now have stores located in the USA, Zara’s founder is from Galicia and they have they best stores there! Some stores are five floors!)
- Go visit the church in whatever town you find yourself in. There are usually a few to choose from with a main one that is located near the center of the town. Just make sure to be respectful!
- Be sure to search the web to see if any holidays are scheduled during your stay- some have huge parades and festivities you won’t want to miss. Also check for things like farmer’s markets which usually happen during the summer months on Saturdays.
- Lastly, if you are there during the summer months make sure to take a dip in the freezing cold ocean and tan on the beaches. They are usually full of people enjoying the few warm summer months in Galicia.
